Rubber Paddle Declumper/Grader is the primary tool to Wash, Declump, and Grade mussels after harvesting. They are located on boats and at the entry to processing lines in a factory situation.

There are rubber paddles on a central axle, turning clumps of mussels in a cylinder with a semi circular bar screens of your choice. Clumps of mussels are broken down, debris, small mussels etc are lost through the bar screen and washed separated mussels are delivered out the top of the machine.

Both electric and Hydraulic versions are available.

Cam Action Brush Graders work a bank of nylon brushes on clumped mussels along a bar screen base.

It is the traditional French type grader and is available in three models ranging from the 500 kg/hr 15 Brush model, to the large 24 Brush model doing 2,000 kg/hr.

Motors are in either electric or hydraulic.

All stainless steel construction.

Rotary Brush Grader is a series of nylon brushes arranged in screw, rotating in a cylinder with two bar screens. Mussels are Separated, Washed and Graded by the action of the brushes on the bar screens.

Excellent for sorting, washing, declumped mussels on board boats or in a factory situation.

Vibrating Bar Screens graders are 1, 2 or 3 screens models, for grading fully declumped mussels in a factory situation.

Rolling Bar Graders are very accurate for completely declumped mussels, with mussels being moved along between the rotating bars and falling down according to size.

Debyssing Machines remove the Byssus Threads or “Beards” of mussels prior to cooking.

This is achieved by a series of counter rotating knurled stainless steel bars.

There is a range of models from the Model 50 with a capacity of 100 kg/hr, to the large Model 200, capacity 1,500 kg/hr.

Debyssing is best done just before cooking of other processing, and there is therefore a model small enough for an individual restaurant or fish monger, and large enough to process 1,500 kg/hr in a factory situation.

The model 100 is available with a Hydraulic or electric motor.

The Reversing Belt Weigher is a twin weighing head machine that sits at right angles to the end of a grading or inspection conveyor. Product is carried to fill a bag or container to the left and once the desired weight is met there, it automatically switches direction to fill the container on the right. Each side can be set to weigh the same or different weights. There is very little height difference between the machine and the end container, making this system very suitable for clams or other fragile shells.

The Single Belt machine is widely used where quantities in the 2 to 30kg range with accuracy of 150g, are required. It is used for all types of shellfish. There is an option to have an enclosed pan retaining the product until discharged by pedal operation OR open pan discharged by hand.
